A former champion, Harvey Smith made show jumping his main sport. In 1971, he gave the judges the “V sign” following a near perfect round, and won after he was disciplined. He did not succeed as a singer. Thus, he became a television commenter for the BBC. Harvey was known as the first man who ever jumped in 100 Volvo World Cup Qualifying Rounds.
